The What Is a Woman? documentary narrated by Matt Walsh begins with him talking about being a father and a husband, but not many know about his wife Alissa – his major support system.
The Daily Wire documentary promising on gender ideology was released on Twitter on Thursday and opened to mixed reactions. While some have hailed it for its thought-provoking content, Elon Musk‘s platform displayed a disclaimer for ‘hateful conduct’ owing to two instances of misgendering.
Matt Walsh, who serves as the columnist for the American conservative website, has also gathered immense attention following the airing of What Is a Woman?

Matt is married to his wife Alissa for more than a decade and the couple shares six children together, including two sets of twins.
However, viewers weren’t sure how many children the duo had as Matt is heard saying he’s a father of four in his opening statement in the documentary. What Is a Woman? appears to have been filmed prior to the birth of his youngest twins, whom he welcomed in January 2023.
Not much is known about Alissa otherwise, except an interesting and funny fact that one of the reasons she’s on Twitter is to troll her husband.
She also uses the platform to express her opinion about subjects Matt is actively involved in, such as gender propaganda, LGBTQ+, and more.
When Matt appeared on one of Pints With Aquinas’ segments, he revealed for the first time how he proposed to his wife Alissa.
Recollecting the most romantic moment, Matt said he had hidden the engagement ring in a shell and placed it by the beach before taking his then-girlfriend on a walk. The couple lived near the beach at the time.
Matt’s plan was to randomly point at the “beautiful shell” and watch his future wife find the engagement ring inside of it. But, Alissa apparently knew what he was up to from the very beginning, and the surprise didn’t come across as a surprise anymore.
In the same segment, Matt also gushed about his wife being the only woman to understand and stand by his dreams, while other women he dated in the past never took him seriously.
